Why don't I receive a notification sound when I get an incoming text message?

I receive no sound with incoming text message

I do not know that i have a new text message because no sound

Check the following:

1. Make sure the mute switch is in the UP position on the side of the i-Device.
2. Check the volume level
3. Make sure that the DO Not Disturb feature is enabled.
4. Make sure that notifications for messages are set accordingly.
