Why do I keep getting a random Invalid Sim error?

Starting a few weeks ago, at random times, my phone loses cell services and reads "Invalid SIM." Rebooting the phone corrects the problem but is annoying. Anyone have insight into what is going on?

Call up Verizon and have them send you a new one.

Is your device running iOS 8.1? Have you tried getting the SIM replace via your wireless carrier?

Thanks for the suggestions. I will see if I can ride this out until it is time to upgrade. Hopefully it doesn't get any worse.
