Hi, I have Yosemite on Mac, which enables me to text even to my android user friends. I have a friend in Europe that has an android phone. Can I text him the same way? And if so, do I get charged from my phone company (I believe Verizon would charge if I texted him from my iphone), or does the texting app side step that?

Oh wow that's an interesting question. I think you would get charged for International texting. Have you contacted Verizon?

You will still get charged for international texts by your carrier. Your Mac is just acting as a go-between but its using your iPhone's carrier texting plan.
