Problem setting up "Find Friends"-both iphone same house

Wife and I would like to use "Find Friends" but app keeps giving me message "Can't Send Request-you can't send a request to yourself" How can I get around this roadblock?

I can only *assume* you both are sharing an Apple ID. If so, create a separate one for yourself or for your wife.
