I was thinking about buying the 2.5 15inch MacBook Pro for the mobility and I have heard nothing but great things about them. I'm coming from PC so I'm sure there will be quite a few weeks for a learning curve.

I was wondering would the MacBook Pro be able to back up my blu-ray library? Or do I need to look for something different?

    Thanks.

Macs don't have native Blu-Ray drives. However you can get external USB Blu-Ray drives and the software drivers for them. Then you can use something like Handbrake and VLC to rip the Blu-Rays.

There is also a paid software like Magic Blu-Ray Ripper for both PC and Mac. Apparently there is a sale. so choose what you what out of those 3 (what Karen mentioned and the paid option). You can also download a trial version of the paid software to see if it works for you (they create sample files of several minutes). Good luck with whatever you choose. If you want to think about the paid route - I will post the website then.
