Why doesn't my phone ring when I get a call, it only works on the speaker?

my phone doen't ring when i call it only works on the speaker

it only works on the speaker and when i press the volume it shows the headphones

It could be damaged. Did you ever get it wet?

One thing to try is to take a pair of headphones and plug/unplug them into/from the phone several times and see if that makes a difference. Maybe the switch inside the plug is stuck.

Try any of the following:

1. Reboot the device.
2. Make sure the "mute" switch isn't enabled.
3. Make sure the volume button is pressed to increase the volume
4. Make sure that the Do Not Disturb feature isn't enabled.
5. Go to Settings - Notifications - Phone and then make sure the "Allow Notifications" is enabled and then select a ringtone in the "Notification Sound" section.
6. If none of the above work, decide if you want to restore your device and set it up as new OR make a genius bar appointment with the nearest Apple Store to see if they can diagnose the problem for you.
