I got this message "Can not take photo, not enough available storage" so I deleted 107 photos and 30 videos to open up space. Didn't do anything, the iphone 6 still says I can't take a photo, WTF.

When you delete the photos and videos, they go to the "Recently Deleted" album for a few days, similar to the trash on OSX or the recycle bin on Windows.

Go to your Recently Deleted album and delete them from there, and you will regain your space.

Mike is right and you can even go further if you want to keep them just place them in a folder on your computer. There are various easy ways to get them there.
