how to delete multiple contacts on iphone 5s

one of my contacts on my NEW iphone5s was accidentally added multiple time to my contact list. Perhaps 100 times. How can a contact, 1 or 100 be deleted?

Unless you are deleting entire accounts I think it needs to be done manually

There's several apps that do that. Contacts Duster is one. There's others. I have never used them.
