Email address keeps changing

I am not sure if this is a dumb question or not but I haven't seen this happen before.

I have a work email - John.doe@work.com (actual email address changed for privacy). It keeps changing itself to john.doe@exchange2010.emci.ca. If I change it back it shows on the screen that it has changed but next time I access that email (receiving or sending) it changes back to the exchange2010 domain email address. On the receivers end it still shows as coming from John.doe@work.com.

What is this about? This just started yesterday and I have had this account for over a year with no previous issues.

Is it possible that your job's IT department is making the change remotely? If you're unsure, ask them.

I have checked with a couple other iPhone users here at work using the same settings on their phones and they don't have this happening. Different model iPhones but same iOS version.

I will check with IT but I would assume it would be a global change with all employees and not just some.
