No, you can't just go to that link and install it. We're using Mac and there isn't a version for OS X Yosemite.

    hello,
    just go to /Applications/Yahoo Messenger.app/Contents/
Edit info.plist with a text editor
Change the option "CFBundleVersion" from the current number (235554) to (235555) then save it.

    After that should work fine.

Editing the plist file didn't work for me. Is there more than one line that needs to be changed?
I edited and saved the file, then got an error "Yahoo Msgr is damaged, do you want to move to trash?"

    Hi PQueimadas,

Thanks so much for your fix, however...

Unfortunately I tried that but although YM launches & finds may account name etc, it crashes as soon as I hit 'Sign In'...

(Also tried John Warren2's suggestion to change it back - same result - crashes every time as soon as I press 'Sign In')

Do I need to reboot or anything after changing the (235554) to (235555) in TextEdit & saving?

    Many thanks!

    Hi there,

When I went into DW to change the CFBundleVersion number from 235554 to 235555, it wouldn't allow me to save the existing file. It gave me the error message that reads: Access to iMacHD:Applications:Yahoo! Messenger.app:Contents:Info.plist was denied. Do you know why that is?

    Many thanks

The fixes don't work. Yes, Yahoo Messenger launches and looks ready to go....., but the 'Sign In' button does not look right. It IS clickable but the moment you click on it the program quits. Yahoo's recommendation is to use YIM in the Yahoo Mail interface:

    Hello.

iMac 10.11.4 here. Editing the info.plist file with a text editor didn't work for me. I edited info.plist with extendscript toolkit.app, and selected TEXT as the language option, modified the number 235554 to 235555, and saved the file. While the messenger app in the applications file list no longer appears struck through, when I open it, I receive the message: "Yahoo! Messenger.app" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash. Firefox downloaded this file on 26 May 2015."

Question: since you suggested number 235555 when the current OSX was 10.10, does this mean that the number for OSX 10.11 is 235556?

Question: since editing the info.plist file with textedit didnt work for me, which program do you suggest I use? If the use of extendscript toolkit.app is appropriate, which language should i select to modify the info.plist file?

Please help. I really would like to get yahoo.messenger to work again (because of those cute emoticons - it's silly isn't it).

    Update:
I changed the settings on my to allow the system to run all applications, and now the yahoo messenger app does open, but the moment i want to log in with my yahoo mail account and password, it invariably crashes.
