Is there a way to set to default Alert in Calendar in ios8?

Like the title say, Is there a way to set to default Alert in Calendar in ios8?

I'm coming from Android where this was an automatic. I just realized I wasn't getting alerts to the stuff I put in my calendar.

You can choose to setup a reminder when you put stuff in your calendar but your calendar events will show up by default in Notification Center.

Thanks, Nikki. I really wanted to be able to set as default to sound an alert, instead of having to choose it each time.
