predictive text has disappeared from messages and email

the grey bar with predictive text is missing from my iPhone 6 iOS 8.0.2

Did the predictive text bar turn into this thin grey line? If so, simply hold down your finger on the white "handle" in the centre and swipe upwards to bring back the predictive texting bar.

The bar you slide up is no longer there and it's also no longer in settings in keyboards.

See post # 2. The white bar just above the keyboard is where you can turn it back on. Tap and hold the white bar and drag it up to reveal the predictive text.

If you have other 3rd party keyboards, try long pressing on the globe of the default keyboard.

Yes, the menu that appears after pressing the globe has a switch at the top for predictive text. I had somehow switched mine off. Thank you.
