How do I delete the password

I used to be able go directly to the entrance page where is says to slide right. Now I have to put in a four digit code. How can I return to the way it was with no request for a code?

Settings > Touch ID & Passcode > [enter passcode] > Turn Passcode Off

If you have Touch ID configured on your phone, you cannot turn Passcode off.
