Why are random apps opening on my iPhone 6 Plus for no apparent reason?

When the phone is just sitting around, but turned on, periodically apps will open without any provocation. It's not really spooky, but it is annoying. Anyone else have this experience?

I haven't had that happen but twice today my screen lit up without me touching it, no notifications, phone calls or anything and it was off the charger. Weird

I am experiencing the same odd behavior with my iPhone 6. It seems to be happening when plugged into my car charger primarily. Although sometime in the middle of the night iTunes started playing music on its own not connected to any charger. Does anyone have experience with this issue?
