if i replace a water damaged screen, will the phone work?

i dropped my phone in the toilet for less than a second, and the heavy duty case didn't save it from damage. the phone looks perfectly fine, but it does not respond to touch. i can unlock it with siri & everything looks normal, except i can't access anything . if i replace the screen will it work?

Water and electronics don’t mix. It might dry out and be fine. It might never be right. It depends on how quickly you got power removed from the device, and how long you are leaving it off - at least until the internals dry out. If something fried, you will have to replace/repair the fried parts - it typically involved more than just the screen.
