    Hundreds of photos have suddenly disappeared from my ipad, camera rook, albums and photo stream. Could anyone explain why this might be please?, and is it possible to retrieve them?

    If the photos that were in your Photostream are older than 30 days, they are automatically removed. As for the ones in your camera roll, especially if you're running iOS 8, then initiate the Photos app, tap on "Photos". You will see that your photos are grouped by date. Scroll to the very top to make sure that all of them are present.
