Why do I not have any sound effects after upgrading to iOS 8

When I play videos and music I have no sound on my iPad 3. If I go to settings and sound, I have the ringtones, but music and videos don't.

Have you tried rebooting your device.? Have you tried going to Settings - Music - Volume Limit to see whether or not is has been enabled and whether or not the volume limit therein has been changed to its lowest settings? Are you unknowingly connected to a bluetooth device?
