Hello. First off, I apologize if this has been asked/answered. I did try searching but didn't find anything actually addressing my issue.

Here's the problem I am having:

I am attempting to get my family switched to iCloud for calendars. However, in testing, when I send my iCloud account a calendar invitation from a different iCloud account, after accepting it nothing is added to my iCloud calendar. From the sending account I can see that it's been accepted, but on my iPhone and icloud.com nothing shows on the receiving side.

What gives? If this isn't standard functionality we'll definitely need to stick with Google calendar...

Not to make is confusing but are you wanting to share a calendar? if so there are easier and better ways to do it without the invitation way. Let us know what exactly you want. If so you can just have a family calendar to use.

Hmm... you do raise a good point. I was planning on taking advantage of the Family calendar created during Family Sharing anyway -- maybe I'm just too used to the way we used to do things... I suppose that for my family stuff we'd never need to invite each other, just put it on the shared calendar.

Still seems weird to me, though, that an event for which I accept an invitation doesn't end up on my calendar...

That's how I do it with my family. I hear you because I use exchange at work so it is different.

Google Calendar behaves differently than iCloud. On icloud.com, for instance, if my wife and I invite each other to a calendar, they don't both show, but do on iOS 7 and 8. It's bizarre but we're used to it.
