Why is the App Store not updating my iPad 2 on iOS 8

Since yesterday, my iPad 2 running iOS 8 will not update any apps from the App Store. All the apps with an update are listed with the typical "circle with dot In the middle", but proceed no further. Anyone have a solution to this problem?

Do a hard reset and also make sure you have a good wifi connection because some of those updates are unusually large

Sometimes you have to delete the apps and then re-download them. Sometimes all it takes it for you to tap on it to pause the download and then tap on it a second time to resume. If you sync your device via iTunes, it may be easier to update the updates via iTunes and then sync them over to your device.

I'm having the same problem, since updating to iOS 8.0. Updating to 8.0.2 hasn't helped. I'm now up to 10 apps not updating, and it seems its not updating ANY new apps that require it, so the 'delete and restore' option seems unlikely to work.
