Wish you could use the touch sensitivity as home button

I have an iPhone 6 and rarely use that double tap feature to make the screen come down for easy use of higher apps and such....but I wish there was a way to be able to just tap to return back home, or multitask, instead of actually clicking.
It wouldn't interfere with anything as far as I can imagine

Yes Assistive Touch is a great feature to limit the amount of time you need to use the home button and it's been refreshed with new features in iOS 8

But I just wish you could also take more advantage of the home button / finger print scanners touch sensitivity, you know?
