plane finder hd + ship finder no maps since ios8

[iMore Question]

As title - just updated to ios 8 last nite on 4th gen ipad, plane finder hd and ship finder still work and show planes / ships but have no background map - anyone else have these apps they can try? Dont know if reinstalling will help or just incompatible with the new ios?

They probably have not been updated in the last couple of days to iOS 8. That is the only thing I can think of. I don't have those apps but it is the most likely cause. If you could ask the developer(s) when they have submitted an iOS 8 compatible update to the App Store.
