problem with texts and phones; all on one iTunes account

Somehow when we added a new iPhone to my account; I have another iPhone and iPad, it has caused mixups when I send texts. I know it must be something with how I linked names and phone numbers.

If both iMessages are configured with the same Apple ID on both devices then yeah, both devices will get those same messages. Sign out of iMessage on one of the device, create a separate Apple ID, and then login to iMessage with it.
