Do you mean the tabs? Just swipe them to the side or tap the small x in the upper left corner. Is that what you mean?

How do you clear your shared links on safari on the iPad ?

You will have to login to Twitter or Facebook and then go to its online settings and revoke access to iOS. You may have to reboot your iOS device afterwards.
