Where are the three dots that display when someone is replying via iMessage?

The three dots that used to show up when another iPhone user was replying to a text do not show up anymore. Is that a setting that has to be changed somewhere? I used to like those dots!

Mine still works. Try a hard reset. Hold the top power/sleep button and the home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears, then release. Let us know if that works.

Karen is right. If your referring to one particular person, they may have turned it off in settings. But if you get none from anyone, especially if those have been working, then it may be something else.

I don't think it shows up if the other person has Read Receipts turned off.

I don't think this is true—pretty sure the only way you can disable the "..." bubble is to turn off iMessage entirely. (Or if jailbroken, use a tweak like TypingPrivacy.)

Make sure you still have iMessage turned on, otherwise those dots won't show up.

They actually still come up if you have them on or off unless the person has iMessage turned off completely then it won't show
