I have a Note 3! I've had it for 4 or 3 months! And i gotta say i love it! It's a great phone! But ive always wanted an Iphone! But i always found that the Androids that came out were better than the iPhone's that were in those years! Know the new Iphone 6 really caught my attention! And i was wondering since the Note 3 is one of the phones that it's tec is the most advanced up to date, well i thought: "why not trade it for the upcoming iphone 6! So do u guys think it would be a fair trade? Beacuse i can't spend like $600 on an iphone! Its much easier and free to trade!

Why trade in a device you say is technically better than the iPhone? That doesn't make any sense so having said that, it is NOT a fair trade, in my opinion.

I agree with D, it's not a fair trade. And good luck finding someone to trade their iPhone 6 anyways, especially with the Note 4 on the way.

It's not a fair trade. Virtually every second-hand shop here in the UK will not even straight swap a Note 3 for a 16Gb iPhone 5S, let alone trying to trade one for a new iPhone 6.

I'm a firm believer in someone using the device that best suits them and their needs. If you state that Android phones are better than iPhones then your options are clear; stick with the Note 3.

Ultimately your device will be a year older than the iPhone 6. The switch won't be even and you probably kaons find anyone willing to switch anyway. You may sell yours and then purchase an iPhone. That'll probably be your best bet but you're still looking at a decent amount of cash.

Welcome to iMore Jeanmark

As mentioned it's not a fair trade but that doesn't mean you can't sell your device and put that money towards an i6

Good Luck

When the OP says "trading in", what does he mean exactly ?

Informal trade with someone on Craigslist ?

I wasn't aware Apple accepted non-Apple phones for trade-in for credit to the purchase of a new iPhone.

I think it would be very fair and a good trade on your side ;)

I'm sure he means trading it in at a carrier or whatever though I doubt he gets a free iphone in return. Is it fair? Nope. You're getting ripped on any trade in deal. Hypothetically, is a note 3 worth an iphone 6? That's a silly question. An iphone 6 will easily trump the rest in terms of value. Whether it trumps everything else in terms of OS, apps, etc, is subjective to your personal needs. But in general, it does that too.

I don't judge an iPhone in terms of tech but rather in terms of usability, build, ecosystem, customer service/support. When looking at it from that perspective, the iPhone is the best device for me.
Someone who values the latest tech might not necessarily be looking at the same things I mentioned above. Therefore whether it isn't a fair trade isn't the real question as I see it. It is possible that since the iPhone's approach is a focus in experience as opposed to tech in and of itself, the trade will never be fair because the comparison isn't valid.

If you are thinking to trade in your Note 3 for subsidized iPhone 6, yes thay will do that at the carier stores. But that's a rip off. You may get Max $425 for your Note 3 on Swappa, or ebay though. You are looking at $250 short to get new iPhone.

Even if the note was a 3 its actually a fair trade even being that the note 5 is out. The note 3 tops the iPhone 6 and 6+ so if the note 3 tops it with camera specs services what makes you guys think its a rip? that's just the comparison between note 3 and iPhone 6+ and 6. So compare the note 4 to the iPhone 6s and see which is better and still if iPhone comes on top BOOM a note 5 is out so guys please know that specialist have said it themselves a note 3 is better than iPhone 6,6+ so i am sure note in general is topping iPhone completely.
