enough storage space but won't sync new music

I have an iPhone 4s, and still have 3GB of storage left, but now when I want to download new songs onto it, iTunes tells me it can't proceed to syncing my new music with my phone because I don't have enough space..
I tried resetting all settings but it hasn't changed anything, so I don't know what to do. Any suggestions ?

I have seen workarounds where you take them and make them into a playlist and then sync the playlist. You can try that.
