Home button help. Have tried many things

My home button recently went bad on my iPhone 5. Since then, I've have the button and the flex cable replaced with no luck. I've had the terminals that contact the home button (which I believe to be part of the lightning cable) replaced and still nothing. What else can a do? Someone said my only other option is to replace the whole screen. Which I really don't see how that will help. Please help.

If you've replaced it yourself, take it to a nearby Apple Store and let one of the geniuses look at it and possibly repair/replace it for you.

Make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple store to have it checked out. Good luck.
