So I screwed up and used activator to set up swipe to send me to lock screen. unfortunately now I can't open the phone because I have to swipe to get it open which of course sends it back to lock screen. Yes, I know, very dumb. Ideas?

Why don't you open the camera from the lock screen, then just hit the home button?

Put your phone in safe mode so that you can adjust the settings for activator or delete it if you don't want it. Turn your device off & hold the up volume button & press the power button at the same time until the Apple logo appears
