What is REALLY the price of an app at the Apple App Store?

I

iMore Question

When an app posts a price, how do I know if that's monthly or yearly or just a one-time charge? There's a price listed in the blue square to the right before I purchase the app. But the app does not tell me: Is this a one time fee, is it monthly? Is it yearly? How do I know what I will be charged and how often?

Hi and welcome to iMore.

The price in the App store is a one time payment. It's not yearly or monthly.

Have you found an instance of an app that shows otherwise?

Welcome! As Highrisedrifter said, the price you see in the blue outlined rectangle is a one time payment. Some apps offer services that do require a monthly or yearly fee. You will see that in the app's write up. Spotify Premium, for example, is $9.99 USD per month. There are also optional in-app purchases in some apps for more features and app options. But those are not required. Hope this answers your question.

To add once you pay the cost of the app and download it. The app no longer has access to charge you without your permission
