recently I gave in and updated to ios7 (1.1to be precise) and have noticed that, in messaging, days and times are underlined. This is obnoxious and seems to, either infer an emphasis on my part that I do not intend, or, that my intended recipient is not capable of reading a message without signposts. How do I disable this ?

You can't turn it off.... Just ignore it.. It's hard coded into the OS for this reason scheduling... Nothing more.

Why does it bother you. Ignore the underlining and there may be a day that it might come in handy to you.

Also the intended recipient may or may not see the same underlines depending on what sort of device they are using to read the message.
