No Clear option in Safari Bookmark History page and Safari Settings Clear History button grey

On my iPhone 5 on iOS 7.1 there is no Clear button option in Safari Bookmark History page and in Safari Settings "Clear History" the button is grey. Also in the Safari Settings Favorites screen I am unable to untick Favorites (to opt out of the automatic collection of a list of favorite websites). The list of websites listed in Bookmarks History page on Safari is a all sites from 11 April to 30 April 2014 (today). This is the entire list since the iphone was reloaded on the 11 April 2014!

Go to Bookmarks -> Favourites and then edit your Favourites.


Deleting a favourite will delete one of the icons on the Welcome page.


Adding one will add an icon to the Welcome page.

Also go to settings>safari> switch off "show favorites bar". This will free up some real estate
