Transfer iPad info from old to new one

ARelative is getting me new one. He is doing the transfer of all old info from my iPad to the new but lives in a different state .i need to bring my present iPad with me for the transfer, do I need to bring my computer also? It would make traveling difficult. Can he do it without the computer if I don't need any transfer of iPad info to computer or. Computer info to iPad?

You would need to do a backup on yours through iTunes or iCloud and if you do it through iCloud then you could leave the computer at home. iTunes you would need to take the computer. Hope it is a laptop.
