Problem on mail app

I am using Iphone 5 and I am tryihg to open my mail app but it is not working. I automatically go back to home. Can you please help me solve this issue?

Maria, try rebooting your phone (Turn it off and then turn it back on).

If the above advise didn't solve the problem. Try rebooting the device by holding the home button and the power button until you see the Apple logo, then release both. Good luck.

Are you using the Native Apple mail app or a 3rd party app like Google? If you are using a 3rd Party then you can delete it and reinstall and that might work.
