Deleting multiple emails on IPad

Is there a shortcut to selecting and deleting multiple emails on the iPad? I'm using the standard Apple OS 7.1 email application.

If the email messages are already in your Trash folder, then yes. Simply select "Edit" and then "Delete All". If the messages are in your inbox, then no. You have to select them one at a time.

Just to add to this if you have gmail as I answered a similar question yesterday if you have an archive folder they will go there first from the deletion out of your inbox and then from there trash and follow the given instructions. If it is not gmail excuse me and follow the given instructions. Thank you.
