Problem adding hotmail account to iphone 5 ios 7.1

Still doesnt work for me. Im selecting outlook and using my full hotmail address and password, and it still says unable to verify details. I can login perfectly well on safari using those details but not on my ipad!!!

Okay. Try it again and make sure that the passcode is correct. If it still fails, try the exchange setup.

Try after entering your password, tap on another area, like email address, before hitting done.

I got it to verify but then a box comes up and says password is incorrect but it is. Why won't that go away?

sign in to your Hotmail account

go to the gear (upper right)
-options

under Managing your account
-go to Account details

new pop up window-Microsoft account

under Security and password
-create new app password

On iPhone

-add account
-Outlook
-Email (use your hotmail email address)
-Password (use the app password)

i will just add that you are now going to the section called SECURITY & PRIVACY
under ACCOUNT SECURITY
MANAGE ADVANCED SECURITY
scroll down to APP PASSWORDS
then
CREATE A NEW APP PASSWORD
copy and paste THAT into your smart phone to add the mail account.

and may no one go through the insanity i just did to figure this out!

I would recheck because I am sure that all the hotmail accounts were converted a long time ago.

Mines still hotmail all of them as well my moms and Even my ex that had a @msn email

Try login in to a computer 1st then try after if successful.

Problem Solved:

You must disable " two step verification" on your hotmail account.

- Logon on you hotmail account with any browser
- account settings
- security and privacy
- manage advance securtity settings
- disable " two step verification"
save

After this steps you can add your hotmail account on your iphone..

After my long search, thanks Ivette Rodriguez. Finally, I was able to include my hotmail email to my Mails.

I finally solved the problem with adding Outlook to my Iphone 5S. The two step verification on my Hotmail account prevented the IPhone mail set up. After turning off the the two step verification my outlook account was easily added under Setting.
