I am going to Europe (England and France) and intend to use my iphone in wifi zones. If someone at home in the U.S. texts me from a non iphone, will they incur a charge?

It all depends on the data plan they have and if texting is included in the package as in unlimited texts or pay by text.

That will depend on their cellular plan. Many wireless carriers offer free-texting, but being that we do not know what plan your friends, family and/or associates have, the only answer we can give is what I stated in my first sentence.

If they text your US phone number from the US, they will not incur additional charges for that text.

However, (for you on your end) be aware that SMS uses the voice channel and typically you will not receive them if you are on WiFi and not connected to a cellular network.
