    i bought a iphone 4 from a friend and i can't find a user manual so that i can reset it back to factory setting's
    if you would direct me in the right direction then i can do the rest myself.

    If the phone is jailbroken then this will put him in a boot loop. Best bet is to restore as new thru iTunes.

    We are assuming JB YES? If so potentially you are right but if not a JB phone then best to tether to iTunes and restore and then do a clean install. Depending on what is on it or how deep you have gotten into it either back up first so once restored you can put back on it what you wanted to keep or as we mainly recommend to set up as new after the restore.
