What could be taking up all of my storage space?

For the first time in 4 years, iCloud on my iPad won't back up due to lack of space. I deleted several apps and lots of pics with no success. What could be taking up all the space?

Do you have multiple iPad backups sitting in iCloud? If so, delete one of them.
