    I travel over the weekend to the states and wanna have my iPhone on airplane mode. So switching wifi on to use Imessage I getting all the time the message switch airplane mode off!!!

    If you do that will it then allow you to use WI-Fi and send iMessages presuming you have iMessages switched on? If so then use it that way.

    That alert will always pop up when you have airplane mode turned on weather wifi is on or off.

    When you initially turn on Airplane Mode, all connections get disabled, however, all you have to do is re-enable Wi-Fi via the control panel or via the Settings menu.

    That's what I do! Switch wifi back on so I can make FaceTime calls or message but this message is so stupid same like when you have data on but no wifi to ask you to switch it on....
