Turn off my iPad

I have tried all the solutions given via google and all they are saying is "restart by holding down both start/menu button.

You are asking to Turn off your iPad in your thread title as you are talking about a reboot. If you turned it on with the power button, You cannot turn it off with the power button or am I missing something?
