Unable to fully reboot iphone after iOS 7 install

iMore Question

I heard about the potential security risks yesterday on the news that if you don't keep your phone up to date, that your phone is at risk for the bad guys hacking in to intercept emails.
Apple quietly issues iOS update to patch faulty SSL authentication (update 2: OS X patch coming)

So I finally gave in, and cleared out all of my apps to make room for the operating system update, and clicked install. It took the phone about an hour, and then went to reboot. Looking at the status bar on the reboot screen, with white apple, it seems to be stuck at about 70% for the last 7 hours. I tried to get the phone to do a hard reboot, top right button and that is not working.

Any ideas how to bring this phone back to life?

I would definitely appreciate any advice!

Thank you!!
