Random but what would be considered the third quarter of 2014

If a year is 12 months...divide 12 by 4 (which is 3, lol), and that will give you the approximate quarter times per year. Jan - March (1), April - June (2), July - September (3), October - December (4).

This is true...but fiscal year quarters can fluctuate so much I just gave the general information...our fiscal year runs the government typical Oct-Oct (as reflected above in your example).
