ipad air, cracked glass

Bought an Ipad Air for my wife as a Christmas gift. The glass has cracked under normal use. What is the cost of repair and is it better to go to an Apple store for the repair or to Best Buy where I purchased it?

It may not cost you anything, but either way, I would, without question, take it to a nearby Apple Store in lieu of Best Buy or another non-Apple retail establishment.

Since when is cracked glass covered under warranty? That would be covered under Apple Care +. But I'm curious to know what this type of normal usage was that would cause the glass to crack.

I never bought Apple Care in a long time, nor did I ever need to bring in my phone for repairs. Thanks for the info though.
