Image Capture is the only thing I use regularly. I hate iPhoto.

It is funny that sometimes things like this never come up and now you ask this question and I have read in these forums in the lest few days how many people don't like iPhoto but getting it in the package with a brand new IOS device like the Air and Mini Retina and getting it downloaded free as a package of I think it is 5 apps people are going for it but most people i have learned don't care for iPhoto like Sean eluded to his preference. Take the time to check out image capture. I was also amazed when I was setting up my iPad mini retina how much space it takes up . Knowing I can always get them back through iTunes purchase although free i deleted everything even though I got a model tat would hold up on, Best of luck.

I've only used iPhoto and haven't had any issues but I'm a basic user. I'm definitely going to try Image Capture though.
