There is a message that pops up every 2 seconds that reads SIGH IN TO iMESSAGE and is asking for my Apple ID password for an apple ID which is similar to mine but is not mine. The problem is that the message pops up constantly and I cannot use my phone at all because it is blocking any operation. Could you please help me with that??
    Thanks

Did you try to restart/reboot? (Hold down both home button and on/off button at the same time) maybe that'll give you the time to check the settings after the phone turns back on?

Go to Settings - Messages, and then disable iMessage.
