When I try to send an email it goes into my outbox instead of being sent to the recipient. Why is this happening and what can I do to rectify the problem?

Make sure you have a good signal on wifi or cell. Make sure you have the correct email password. If all are good do a restart. Hold in both buttons until the apple logo appears.
If the given advice does not work, Delete the email acct. and do the same reboot to clear everything and re add the acct. which should take care of it.
