I have iphone 5 with jailbreak. Before I jailbreak my phone, I was able to see (option to upgrade ios to latest version i.e software update) from iphone. But now when i try to upgrade ios by

General => Software Update, the iphone just shows 'Checking for updates' and don't display any option. Earlier, I was able to see the update button (before jailbreaking).

How should I update my ios 6 to ios 7 with keeping my backup . Do I need to remove my jailbreak ? Please ! help me to proceed.

You must restore your phone on iTunes before you can upgrade the software. iOS 7 is jailbroken now so you can still jailbreak if you choose to.

Make sure you have your SHSH blobs are saved.

I would make sure your iTunes has a backup and iCloud too then proceed to restore. Be a little patient it may take you a while but defiantly will be worth it! Let us know how you did!
