So I just started using my old iphone 4, since my htc one does not want to recieve any messages from my wife. My question is I also have an iphone 4 issued from work my personal phone is much slower and a delayed response. I did a full wipe and reset and this phone is still very slow. Is there something else I can do or could it possibly be my iCloud back up was from an i5 that is screwing it up. Thanks

From what I've read on the internet, iOS 7.0.4 is pretty sluggish on the iPhone 4 due to the processor. I guess it's similar to how iOS4 was on the iPhone 3G.

I would agree that that iPhone 4 no matter what you do you will mot realize the speed as you would an IP 5 or 5S or 5C

The iPhone 4 was kind of on the cusp of the iOS 7 update. Unfortunately, given it's age and the requirements of the new OS, it's probably never going to run "fast". You're talking about a device that is approaching 4 years old now. Ancient by tech standards.

I agree with Sean, however still feel it's impressive that they are supporting such a old device. When I upgraded my Son's iPhone 4 to iOS 7 It really slowed the device down. It's still usable, but much slower than it was with iOS 6. With the older devices it wouldn't be a bad idea for apple to allow users to downgrade to previous iOS versions.
