problem opening downloaded documents

I am going to a website I use very oftern (my college website) to retrieve assignments, syllabus, etc and they download successfully but when I try to open them it as if I never even clicked on it. It does nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Do you have apps installed that are capable of viewing the format the downloaded documents are in?

May I ask where are you trying to open this? I mean on iPhone/iPad or Mac?
