I spent an hour working with Time Warner in addition to 2 hours spent searching the Web on the following problem: My PC can't access Yahoo, Google, Facebook and likely other sites but I can access almost everything else. I was going CRAZY when I got a text message, disconnected my iphone 5S from my PC and then noticed that all the pages I've been trying to access started working. Then I plugged in my iPhone again and they stopped working. Does anyone have any idea why this is? It's easy to fix - just don't charge my iPhone from my PC. However, that seems an illogical way to deal with the problem.
No. Have you ever used your iPhone as a personal hotspot for your PC? If so, could your PC be trying to connect to it somehow? Is iTunes running when you connect your iPhone to your PC? How does charging your phone via your PC helps, unless I misread your question?
I have this same problem. When I plug in my iPhone, I can't get to any site that tries to load anything from Google, including things like google analytics. It's super annoying.
If I turn off my phone's hotspot, the problem disappears, however I would love to be able to keep my hotspot on by default.
My computer is OS X 10.9.3, my phone is running 7.1.1.
